Response of zebrafish to royal jelly supplementation and differences in stocking density

چکیده

Dietary supplementation with royal jelly (RJ) may improve growth, antioxidant gene expression, and intestinal capacity, possibly mitigate effects of stress induced by high stocking density (HSD) in zebrafish (Danio rerio). Effects HSD RJ on growth performance, capacity were investigated. A total 240 four-month-old used a 2 x factorial design, four treatments three replications. The consisted normal (NSD) (1 fish/L) (3 an unsupplemented commercial diet (0RJ) supplemented 10% (10RJ). experiment lasted 25 days. Daily weight gain, final body length, specific rate, survival recorded. On day 25, six fish per treatment euthanised their intestines analysed for superoxide dismutase (SOD2) catalase (CAT) expression. There no or SD interaction growth. High decreased daily gain 25.31%, length 2.70%, 16.85%. Stocking (SD) influenced SOD2 CAT expression capacity. HSD/0RJ group had lower than the HSD/10RJ NSD/0RJ groups. Supplementation did not harmful stress. These results indicate that promotes transcriptional suppression encoding enzymes form first line defence, resulting reduced elimination toxic substances occurrence oxidative

Effects of royal jelly supplementation on body weight and dietary intake in type 2 diabetic females.

BACKGROUND The objective of the current study was to assess the effects of royal jelly supple-mentation on body weight, total daily energy and macronutrients intakes in type2 diabetic fe-males. METHODS In this randomized clinical trial, fifty female volunteers with type2 diabetes were as-signed into the supplemented (n=25) and placebo (n=25) groups, given a daily dose of 1000 mg royal jelly s...

Royal jelly enhances antigen‐specific mucosal IgA response

The effective uptake of antigens (Ags) by specialized M cells of gut-associated lymphoid tissues is an important step in inducing an efficient intestinal mucosal immune response. In this study, royal jelly (RJ) was found to stimulate the differentiation of M-like cells from human Caco-2 cells in an in vitro M cell model. Furthermore, RJ and protease-treated royal jelly (pRJ) efficiently enhance...

Does Supplementation with Royal Jelly Improve Oxidative Stress and Insulin Resistance in Type 2 Diabetic Patients?

BACKGROUND Animal studies have shown antioxidant effects of Royal Jelly (RJ) and its effect on insulin resistance as the most common complication of Type 2 diabetes. This study was conducted to determine the effect of RJ intake on serum total antioxidant capacity, Malondialdehyde and insulin resistance in T2DM. METHODS In this randomized controlled trial, forty-six type 2 diabetic patients, a...

Identification of a Novel Hypocholesterolemic Protein, Major Royal Jelly Protein 1, Derived from Royal Jelly

Royal jelly (RJ) intake lowers serum cholesterol levels in animals and humans, but the active component in RJ that lowers serum cholesterol level and its molecular mechanism are unclear. In this study, we set out to identify the bile acid-binding protein contained in RJ, because dietary bile acid-binding proteins including soybean protein and its peptide are effective in ameliorating hyperchole...
